Your 3 day Agra and Jaipur tour can begin with a pick up either from New Delhi International Airport or from your hotel, where you will be met by our representative and will be driven to the city of love, Agra. Situated on the bank of the Yamuna River, Agra is the dwelling place to India's famous monument, the Taj Mahal. On your arrival, check in at Radisson Hotel Agra. Later in the afternoon, you will be picked up for a guided sightseeing tour of Agra. Taj Mahal was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of this famous monument is said to have taken 22 years, starting from 1631. Later, on visit the Agra Fort, the walled city constructed by famous Mughal emperors and then to Itmad-ud-Daulah, the exquisite tomb of a Persian adventurer who became chief minister at the Emperor Jahangir's court. After visiting the city of the Taj Mahal, start you drive to Jaipur, the Pink city , the next stop on your Agra and Jaipur tour, en-route stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient capital. After visiting Fatehpur Sikri continue your drive to the city that arrays a pink carpet to all its visitors. Jaipur was painted pink to welcome Prince Albert in the year 1853. After the breakfast start the sightseeing of Jaipur that includes the beautiful Amber Fort, 11kms from the city. Amber was once the ancient capital of Jaipur. The Fort is an excellent illustration of Rajput architecture, impressively situated on a hillside facing a lake, which reflects its walkways and walls. Returning to Jaipur, visit the palaces, museums and the halls of the City Palace (still a royal residence) and the Hawa Mahal, the Palace of the Winds. Finally wind up your sightseeing by visiting the Observatory, Jantar Mantar. It was built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1728. Jantar Mantar appears to be an inquisitive collection of sculptures but in fact each construction has a detailed purpose such as measuring the positions of stars, altitudes and azimuths, and calculating eclipses.
