This tour takes you to some amazing destinations. The tour first starts from the city of the Golden Temple-Amritsar, the most important pilgrimage center for Sikhs. The next stop on this tour is Dharamshala, once a quiet hill station and now the home of the Dalai Lama and the center of Tibetan studies. After crossing the two beautiful religious places, relax in the beautiful Himalayan hill station of Manali and Shimla before continuing your tour to New Delhi, India’s most lively and colorful city.

Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrive Delhi

  Your Golden Triangle and Himalayan tour begins with your arrival at the Delhi International Airport. At the airport, you will be received by a Trans India Holidays representative and he will escort you to the hotel and help you with the check in formalities. The tour starts from the capital city, Delhi, a lively city, with an ideal combination of the ancient and the contemporary era. The city has two visible parts, Old Delhi which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the forts, tombs and the ancient ruins whereas the New Delhi offers high-rise buildings and stately homes on wide, tree-lined avenues. • Day 2: Train Delhi to Amritsar (1630/2215 hrs)

  A full day sightseeing of the Old and the New Delhi starting from the largest Friday Mosque- Jama Masjid, the famous silver street of Chandni Chowk, the mighty Red Fort, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi-Raj Ghat, the famous Hindu temple-Birla Mandir, the India Gate & Rajpath, then to the President’s House-Rashtrapati Bhawan, then to the well known 73 m high victory tower- Qutub Minar and finally to the beautiful lotus shaped temple-Bahai temple. Later, you will be escorted to New Delhi Railway Station for the 4:30 pm train to Amritsar, the next destination on your Golden Triangle and Himalayan tour. On your arrival you will be met by our representative and will be transferred to your chosen hotel for a 2 night stay. Overnight stay in Amritsar.

• Day 3: In Amritsar

  Your sightseeing begins with a visit to the Golden Temple, established by the IV Guru of Sikhs, Guru Ramdas and was completed by his successor Guru Arjan Dev. To pay reverence to the Guru Granth Sahib and to take a dip in the Amrit Saras Kund people from all over the world visit The Golden Temple. After visiting the Goden Temple, visit Jallian Wala Bagh, the place where a notorious massacre happened in 1919 under the instructions of General Dyer who personally led the troops to this barred walls and ordered his men to open fire on a group of innocent protestors. A large memorial is built in memory of those who died here at the East end of the garden. Later in the afternoon, visit Wagah Border, the international border between India and Pakistan, the place where the solemnity of the Beating Retreat and the Change of Guard ceremonies make for a most delightful sight. • Day 4: Drive Amritsar to Dharamshala (200 kms/05 hrs)

  After visiting the beautiful city of Amritsar start your drive to Dharamshala, the next destination on your Golden Temple and Himalayan tour. Dharamshala is the home of the Tibetan leader The Dalai Lama. Dharamshala is set against the backdrop of the dramatic Dhauladhar Mountains. Dharamshala is a colorful bazaar town and is an explore camp for those who wish to explore the nearby mountains. On your arrival in Dharamshala you will be transferred to Chonor house for 2 night stay. Rest of the day is free for you to explore this beautiful hill station. Overnight stay in Dharamshala.

• Day 5: In Dharamshala

  The Day is free for you. Highlight of any tour to Dharamshala includes visit to Mcleodganj , home to the Tibetan Government in exile and also to the Norbulinka Institute, the Tibetan children village and handicraft center and finally a visit to the beautiful Bhagsunag temple. • Day 6: Drive Dharamshala to Manali (265 kms/06 hrs)

  This morning depart for Manali, the next destination on your Golden Triangle and Himalyan tour. Manali has remarkable views of snowcapped mountains and slopes, Manali's major asset is its nearness to the snowline. It is a popular honeymoon destination and trailhead for many treks as well as for those with a passion for adventure sports. On your arrival in Manali, check in at your chosen Manali hotel. • Day 7: In Manali

  Depending on the weather head out ski-ing, hang gliding, river rafting. After all this take a short hike and visit the Mountaineering Institute and the apple orchards or just relax in the picturesque ambiances. Overnight stay in Manali.

• Day 8: Drive Manali to Shimla (260 kms/08 hrs)

  After visiting Manali, start your drive to Shimla, the last destination on your Golden Temple and Himalayan Tour. Shimla called as the “Queen of Hill stations” is a beautiful place situated on the lower ranges of the Himalayas. It is surrounded by pine, deodar oak and rhododendron forests. It was the summer capital of British in India and now is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh, and still retains the colonial flavor. Today it has well developed facilities and numerous attractions making it one of India’s most popular hill resorts. Shimla offers a wide variety of shopping, and sport activities. On your arrival check in at your chosen hotel and head out to explore this beautiful hill station at your own. Overnight stay in Shimla.

• Day 9: In Shimla

  The day is free for you, relax and enjoy the beautiful Himalayan views and explore the town. You could also visit the mall in Shimla and dive into the local bazaars. Overnight stay in Shimla.

• Day 10: Drive Shimla to Delhi (340 kms/08 hrs)

  Drive to Delhi or choose to take the beautiful Toy Train ride from Shimla to Kalka, a journey of 100 kms that takes over four hours, and passes through little towns and villages and over a hundred tunnels. Arriving in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay in NewDelhi

• Day 11: Depart Delhi

  Have a relaxed morning in the hotel and later you will be escorted to the New Delhi International Airport for your flight back home.
