Formerly the hunting grounds of the royal family of Jaipur, Ranthambore has now become the sanctuary of wildlife. Also, in the lush premises of the national park lies the 10th century Ranthambore Fort, which is a part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan which have been granted the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
