Safety Norms for Post-COVID Travel in India

Travelling in the COVID times require serious planning and taking care of precautions. So, when you are travelling in India, you must follow some Safety Norms. Trans India Holidays (TIH) has a set of Standard Operating Practices for the guests to have a safe, healthy and memorable travel experiences.

COVID safety norms for travel in India

Representatives, Drivers and Guides

  • Fully vaccinated with WHO approved vaccines.
  • Wear face masks and shields at all times.
  • Temperature checked daily (prior to commencement of duties), and will not allowed to work if they are found to have temperature above 99 F.
  • Not to shake hands or make any physical contact with clients.
  • Briefing on destination specific COVID situation on arrival.
  • No hardcopy itineraries / vouchers to clients.
  • Disposable face masks will be made available to all clients at any time during the trip as required.

Vehicles

  • Thorough cleaning and disinfection of the vehicle prior to commencement of duty, with Special focus on handles, safety belts, seating surfaces, head rests and windows.
  • Vehicle sanitization is to be done using WHO approved disinfectant.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available in all our vehicles.
  • Where large vehicles / coaches are used, seating capacity utilized is not to exceed 60% of vehicle capacity keeping social distancing norms in mind.

Sightseeing and Excursions

  • Schedule visits in a manner that avoids crowding and breach of social distancing norms.
  • Procure all tickets / permits for sightseeings / excursions in advance to minimize clients wait times.
  • Skip a visit or ask guides to change if they don’t feel comfortable.

Dining and Restaurants

  • Ensure that all restaurants and food outlets booked for clients conform to local Health and Safety norms, and have all necessary approvals from the local authorities.
  • Ensure that in all restaurants used by clients, staff wear masks, hand sanitizer is provided and temperature checks conducted for the guests and staff.

Hotels

  • Ensure that all hotels and resorts booked for clients conform to local Health and Safety norms, and have all necessary approvals from the local authorities.
  • Standard Covid Health and Safety norms in the Indian subcontinent include staff wearing masks , regular sanitization of rooms and all touch points, thermal screening on entry and luggage sanitization on arrival.
  • Provide hotels with client info in advance to allow contactless check-in.
